When looking at the scoreboards and information around the Montgomery County field hockey, huge disparities can be seen.

LACK OF JV TEAMS
For programs to grow, develop and be successful, having a JV program is crucial. They give students an opportunity to learn the game, improve, allow more students to play, and generate long-term interest in the game.
HOW WE HELP
Increase student engagement and interest
- Use social media! We will continue to highlight MOCO field hockey players and their incredible talents on and off the field.
Youth Opportunites
- Host free clinics for elementary and middle school. We are aiming to coordinate with other teams to be able to set these up.
- Work to set up field hockey related presentations and activities between just high schools but between high schools and feeder schools!
Economic DISPARITIES
There is no denying that field hockey is an expensive sport. This is something that can prevent students from playing and make it seem elite and inaccessible.
HOW WE HELP
- Give players who are graduating or who have old equipment a place to donate it!
- Aim to be able to set up a free stick fair where such equipment will be given out for free.
- Fundraisers to buy equipment to give out!
- Reach out to retailers for discounts and donations.
